There’s a saying about the Midwest. If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.
It’s especially true right now. It’s January 3rd and we’ve already hit 3 seasons.
Fall: the leaves are still falling from the trees. You get little wind tunnels.
Spring: It RAINED all day yesterday. But it wasn’t super cold. It felt NICE :O
Winter: It’s back today with a vengeance and we’re expecting snow tomorrow.

More Snowfall

What is the deal with Saturdays? This is the 4th Saturday in a row that we’ve had “wintry weather”. WTH? This is starting to get NUTS. Every freaking Saturday?

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING… WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CST THIS EVENING. THE SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

A WINTER STORM WILL INITIALLY BRING A MIX OF SLEET..FREEZING RAIN…AND SNOW GENERALLY SOUTH OF I-70…BEFORE SWITCHING OVER TO ALL SNOW LATE THIS MORNING. 5 TO 7 INCHES OF SNOW…WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS… WILL FALL PRIMARILY DURING THE AFTERNOON. SNOW MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES. SNOW WILL LINGER INTO THE EVENING HOURS AS WELL. NORTHERLY WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH WILL RESULT IN CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW….AND MAY CREATE BRIEF PERIODS OF NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN THE AFTERNOON RESTRICTING VISIBILITIES TO A QUARTER OF A MILE.
