As you might have read, if you follow me on ANY form of social media, I had major issues with my laptop in July. So bad that I had to buy a new battery for it, because it immediately started having issues a WEEK after my warranty on it expired. Then my charging port started having major issues (which might have been what killed my other battery). So, I wasn’t able to scrap as much as I usually do. I didn’t get my laptop back until the 1st of August. So, here’s a backlog of layouts!
My August signature. It was about how you spent/will spend the rest of your summer vacation. Yeah, I’m a reader 😀 That’s what I do.
I’m finally scrapbooking again. Ugh. I haven’t had much time on my hands! Then, when I do, things don’t want to work. My tablet (a Bamboo Fun CTE-450) didn’t want to play with the laptop. I have to test it on the tower again to see if it’s Windows 8 or if it’s the tablet itself. Either way, looks like I’m might have to invest in a new tablet. I like the idea but I don’t use it often enough to really warrant the cost. Dilemmas and decisions.
Another big problem is that the laptop isn’t getting a great signal from the router. I can connect to the network with no issues, but we’re seeing our internet speeds CUT IN HALF when connecting via the WiFi, but seeing 32Mb/s when we’re hardwired via LAN. NOT what I want to deal with. So, we’re going to have to upgrade to a new router. This is so not how I wanted this week to work out. Continue reading Pretty New Layouts→
I’m not going to go into major detail, but I think our building needs to Compare Avira Professional Security, I think. Basically, one of our neighbors has a psycho ex. Like, she had to be escorted out of the complex to a safe place when he made bail. So, yeah, that’s some new drama.
I’m not even taking into account the insane persons who live in the building next to us.
But, hey! Good news out of all of this drama? I’m making some kickass friends 😀
Oh, and yeah, I realize I’m mixing actual security and internet security, but FFS, you never know what the crazies are capable of 😛
Oh my goodness. This week was the best ever of 2013 thus far. Like seriously. Superbowl Sunday. Make-up Monday. Toshiba Tuesday. Weepy Wednesday. Tangled Thursday. Fantastic Friday. Silly Saturday.
Monday, I bought some needed make-up. Some things that I’ve been dying to try. Tuesday, we ordered my laptop. Wednesday, the PMG announced that he’s cutting Saturday delivery. Thursday, pretty much the country, at least those with the power, made it damn clear the PMG was over-reaching douche who needs to step down. Friday, I got an e-mail that my laptop was in and ready for pick-up. Saturday was Girl Scout Saturday. Madi got to make a pizza at Buzzards.
Today I’ve felt like I was on a rollercoaster. Maybe it was because of how I slept, but I swear that my emotions were up and down and everywhere all day long. It was nuts.
The best part of it though is that I am home, with “Ziva the ‘Shiba”, aka the new laptop. She’s just a dream to play with. She’s so quiet. She’s lighter than I expected and a lot wider, but I’m loving it.
Learning Windows 8 is definitely an uphill battle, but I’ll conquer it. I wish my WinPhone apps worked on this. Then I wouldn’t have to repurchase. I need a suggestion for a Word-like application. I know about Open Office, but I had issues with it working on two other computers, so I’m leery of using it.
Okay I think I’m done blathering on with this. This keyboard definitely takes some getting used to, that’s for dang sure, 😆
