I’m so addicted to eBooks from eHarlequin. I love reading them on my laptop, but I would kill to be able to read them on something other than my laptop. I know about the Kindle 2, but I don’t want to shell out that much for something that might or might not work with what I already own. That, and the waiting lists for those are worse than the Wiis when they came out. So not worth it to me. I’ve been looking at some of Sony’s digital readers, and I’m really liking the Sony PRS-505/LC Digital Book Reader
I doubt I’ll get the reader. Josh is really wanting an MP3 player for work (remember, he’s a postal carrier, so he needs some sort of entertainment,). We’re thinking iPod Nanos would be perfect. I can have me a gorgeous, girly purple iPod Nano, while my husband could enjoy the luxury of a manly, sleek black iPod Nano. We’ll be getting them after we get our new tower (which is hopefully coming soon).
Speaking of the new tower, Josh is inspecting graphics card prices,. The boy, he has some issues with that stuff 😉
There are so many things we want to use our tax monies for.
1. Fix the truck and car. Money is already moved into savings for that. 🙂
2. New tower to replace the current one. One we want is for less than $600 for a 3-gig RAM, 500-gig hard drive, 22″ widescreen monitor. *sweets*
3. MP3 players for each of us. Not sure what we’ll be getting. Need one that plays iTunes stuff, since I have *lots* of iTunes music :).
What we won’t be spending it on? A franchise opportunity for one. Not really wanting to buy into anything right now. Market isn’t cut out for that.
No stocks and/or bonds. I don’t trust anything with banks and/or Wall Street right now.
The biggest reason, but not the best excuse, for my failed goals is a failing computer.
I never realized how attached I am to my computer.
My current PC is currently a bit under the weather.
Router won’t work with it, but it’ll work with the Wii.
Graphics card is practically brand new (September of ’06, so still up to snuff), but doesn’t work with the computer.
XP randomly “dies”, along with 90% of the rest of the programs I run daily.
DVD and CD burners do not read any disks, no matter the type.
So, to remedy this, we’re getting new computers.
For the family, it’s a new tower, which we’re getting in a few months time.
First, though, is a laptop for me. Now I’ll be able to write whenever I have the urge, and not be hindered by the fact that I think at least two times faster than I can write. Now no more “What the heck does that say?” because I wrote it so fast and so sloppy.
So, for now, my writing is on hold until we get the laptop and I get my writing programs ported over to it.
Question/Problem: When I hook up my wireless router, my PC no longer connects, but the Wii can, without a problem
Operating System and VERSION: PC: Windows XP SP2, and then whatevers on the Wii
Web Browser and VERSION: Firefox 22.214.171.124 for the PC, Opera for the Wii
Your level of experience: Seasoned with certain things, beginner with routers
Duration of problem: It’s been happening for awhile. My ISP (Cox) says it’s not them, but since I can connect with at least one internet-capable machine, I’m inclined to believe. It worked for awhile, but then stopped, and then would again, and then stopped again. We usually have to keep the router disconnected most of the time.
Any steps you’ve taken to troubleshoot? I’m not sure of which I can take. I’ve tried it with the router on, but the Wii off, and still have nothing. It’s already password-protected and all that good stuff.
I’m not sure if this info matters:
We’re not sure if it’s the computer (it’s slowly dying a painful death). We’re purchasing a laptop as soon as tax return comes in (should be by the end of the week), and we’re hoping that both of us can get on the computers at the same time. We’re purchasing a new tower in a few months (laptop is a priority, since I’m going to be going out of town, and still want to be in better contact than just phone with my husband).
