Sleeping Better

Sleep has always been something I struggle with. I’m just not good at it.

But, it’s getting better. Slowly, but surely. I still have bad days, but my body is doing better at it’s job!

I just wish FitBit would STOP switching between this view and the other view when it comes to things!

30 Days of Lists {Sept 06}

  1. Take my melatonin
    I have insomnia, and this really helps me to sleep. Not every day, but most of the time.
  2. Take a shower
    Not an every day thing, but I usually take it right before I go to sleep. I use my favorite body wash as well. It also helps with the insomnia: Village Naturals Foaming Bath Oil & Body Wash, Restless Nights
  3. Prepost DD at GS
    I do it right before bed and have it scheduled to go up at a certain time.
  4. Upload pictures
    I always make sure that they’re all uploaded at the end of the day, if I haven’t already.
  5. Check schedule for the next day.
    Sometimes I have things to do, sometimes I don’t 😀

Sleep Well

Sleep is hard with kids in the bedSleep is becoming an enigma to me. It’s something that I’m not sure I will ever see the end of. I just want to sleep through the night, without waking up. It’s not even a parent thing. It’s a Sarah-thing. This person here (aka ME) has never slept straight through the night, at least not without the help of a sleep aid (and I am not endorsing any sleep aids). I am in desperate need of a nice long, well-deserved rest.

I haven’t been sleeping well at all lately. I’m just in constant pain. Or something is falling asleep. I have a foam memory pillow, and I’d love to have it as a mattress but the prices are too much for me. Josh found a side pillow that sounds like it might work well for me. We’ll see on that. I’m not even sure.

I’m hoping to get one or something similar and see how I sleep after that. At some point, I need to get a nice long good sleep. Something deep, relaxing and helpful. We’ll see when, and if, that ever actually happens.

I will say that lately, though, that since I started working out (Cardio Kickstart by EA Sports Active 2 for the Wii, I have been sleeping a lot better. I haven’t had a need for a Advil PM since I started. It’s pretty nice.

Work-Out Schedule [which helps with sleep]:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 15-20 minutes of Cardio Kickstart
  • Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday: “break” though I’m trying to find the right work-out that doesn’t hurt me too much the next day.

Some Good News!

The best news, though, even though I’m not sleeping the best, I’m not waking up super cranky. I’m actually seeming to be in a pretty good mood. It’s weird, but it’s really true. So, though it’s not straight through the night, I’m at least getting some good rest!

Getting Some Sleep

Lately, I’ve been rotating between Benadryl, Unisom, and Tylenol PM to get some sleep. Benadryl for bad allergy nights, Unisom for pain-free but can’t sleep nights, and Tylenol PM for those nights when my head or jaw is aching. I’m honestly looking into a natural sleep aid, just because all those chemicals cannot be good going into my body! I’m still not sleeping, even with those meds. It really freaking SUCKS so hard sometimes dealing with insomnia. I can survive and function and all that on little to no sleep but after awhile, it starts to affect my mood (and I’m probably using the wrong effect/affect word). Ugh! I just want to sleep, and sleep all night. I’m tired of waking up in the middle of the night for absolutely no reason.

A Christmas Tour in Pictures

Not the greatest of tours, but this is kind of funny, in my own personal way, :lol:.

The story starts out with a very exhausted momma. Why is she so tired? Momma has been up since 10am yesterday, minus one hour of sleep around 3-4am. Yeah, she has a right to be tired, right?
But the holidays are coming and she doesn’t have the time to be tired, nor does she have the time for her insomnia.
