Sunday, we celebrated Madi’s birthday Monday was her official day, but Sunday was the day everyone could get there, That’s what happens when most of your family works for the USPS
Yesterday was just an awful day. It started out semi-okay. I got up. Yeah, I was a little bitchy, but that’s just NORMAL for me on a weekend, or any morning. I’m not a morning person.
As the day wore on, I started noticing little changes that signified a big baddy on it’s way: tingly fingers, discombobulated head, numb half of my body, tongue felt weird. CRAP! Sign of an aura migraine on the way! Shit!
We had plans of going to Holton to get both vehicles’ oil changed. The car (Josh’s main work vehicle) definitely needed one. It had been over FIVE THOUSAND miles since he’d gotten one, which wasn’t good. His check oil light had come on, and the car had been nearly BONE DRY. YIKES! NOT good!! Truck has gone like 500 miles, but it had been since September/October? So over three months. But, if I’ve got the migraine, I can’t drive. So I stayed home with Madison. To make it up to her, she got her TV back 2 weeks early. Ethan went with Josh and apparently ran around like a chicken with his head cut off!
Now I’m trying to figure out what prompted the migraine. Thankfully, I nipped it in the bud EARLY before it could get too bad, but I think I need to find something else. My body does NOT like aspirin. It HAS to be the aspirin because every other pain med that DOESN’T have it doesn’t effect me like that (I feel light-headed, woozy, and all around DRUNK without having had a drop of alcohol). Ugh! But, it works, so I guess I’m stuck with it, since I refuse to use a prescription for it. I don’t get them enough to warrant one! The last time I had one? I think it was LAST spring.
So, before I ramble on too much longer, I’m going to shut up and go back to working on the things I was supposed to do yesterday but couldn’t because I couldn’t focus on anything!
BUT! One last thing before I officially shut up: ALL last week I saw UNDER 125lbs. That’s without me doing much more than limiting how much I take in. So, that is my official sign from my body that my REAL goal of 115-120lbs by the start of 2012 is actually attainable YAY!
Goodness, it was COLD this morning! We went from 75F yesterday to a high in the 40s today! *shiver* I hate the cold.
Seriously, a huge amount of pictures. I couldn’t choose favorites!!

Yesterday, we went to Holton. Josh’s dad wanted Josh’s help checking out the Silverado‘s brakes. BTW: its definitely the calipers. I remember that burning metal smell from the Jimmy when its calipers locked up. Considering Josh was pretty sure the calipers haven’t ever been changed, as far as he knows (and I think his dad confirmed that, minus a brake job, several years ago), that’s a long-lasting caliper 😛 It also needs a new/replacement power steering pump. That’s not too bad 😉 The Sonoma needed one too, 😆
We actually spent most of the day outside. Yes, even me! Crazy right? Well, it didn’t really get that hot, and Holton had a pretty steady breeze blowing up until it was about time for us to leave 🙂
Last night, Mark and Julie came over. Mark brought the laptop, so Julie was between us, and we were all comparing phones, 😆 Found out that the Samsung Captivate comes out THIS summer! I get to have a Samsung Android phone. Though it looks like they might not use my current charger connector though, 🙁 Oh well, I can send those to Mom and Dad, since Dad’s Blackjack and Rugged (for work) and Mom’s Blackjack (my old one) use the same connections.
Otherwise, not much is going on in this side of the world. Fireworks for Kids have started. Started yesterday morning, continued most of the day into the night, and started at 7am, and didn’t end until about half hour ago (it’s 3:15pm right now). The parking lot looks like a bomb went off because these kids aren’t cleaning up after themselves either. The biggest kicker: none of them are past the age of 11, and are doing this with absolutely no adult supervision at all, unless you count the adults who look out their windows, or the maintenance guy they’re shooting them off in front of.

My mommy? She has an awesome!! Early birthday gifts FTW!
If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I’m on the hunt for a local primary care provider here in Topeka. I had one in Holton, who has since moved to Topeka, and I literally drive by his office anytime we leave the apartment, unless we’re going to Madi’s school. I do not like him though. He treated me like a moron who didn’t know her own body when I told him there was something lodged in my ribs while I was pregnant. He still didn’t believe me after Ethan was born, and there was a rib-shaped imprint in his foot (which he still bears to this day). He also brushed off concerns that other members of Josh’s family (Jamie and Kathy), which could have prevented many things, in our opinion.
I’ve never been one to actually want to see a doctor, but I’m tired of living in pain with my digestive system. I’m tired of one time thinking I figured out what caused the problem, and then cutting it out. And adding it back a few months later, being fine, only to have it start up all over again. I’m tired of being jumpy and jittery and never being able to sleep because my brain won’t shut up.
I’m just tired of not feeling like myself. I’m just tired of feeling like someone else is living my life and that I’m living in a fog.
I’m just tired of lying to myself and saying that everything is fine and that nothing is wrong.
We went to Holton today. Spent a good portion of time in a park surrounded by Josh’s fellow classmates of the Class of 1999. A good portion were parents. It was nice to see everyone, though I knew not a one,.
Otherwise, not much going on. Totally exhausted here right now.
