The flu. Guess what that means. It’s hitting the family.

We didn’t get vaccinated this year. I’m hearing from a lot of moms that they didn’t this year, including ones who are nurses and things like that. So, I don’t feel so bad. It’s not doing a bad round here. The biggest issue we’re having is fevers. Madi’s spiking a mild one [102 has been her highest]. Ethan’s decided he likes the fevers, so he’s keeping them. But, he’s been sick off and on since the start of fall, so I’m not surprised.

Ugh, though. It sucks!

I have an obsession with apps on my phone but also with Kendall the Kindle. I love reading. Reminds me I need to update Goodreads!

Goals for the Day

1. NaNo. Gotta write a minimum of 2229 words to hit 3333 for the two day total.
2. Not die. I don’t feel as bad as I did yesterday but I’m dizzy as hell. That, and I still have a scratchy throat.
3. Stay awake. 😆 You’d think after sleeping from about 4pm til around 7am, I’d be wide awake but nope, not.

Ugh! Ears are all foggy and throat is all scratchy. Chest is tight, and nose is sore.
Welcome to the flu, correct?

Flu Symptoms:
Fever (usually high): Don’t know the exact temp but I was freezing and it was 70 degrees inside the apartment, under blankets. That, and my skin was so hot I felt like I had sunburn.
Headache: If I don’t move my head, it doesn’t hurt.
Muscle aches: oh yeah, definitely!
Chills: Cold in 70 degree apartment plus blankets? Yeah!
Extreme tiredness: 15 hours of sleep anyone?
Dry cough: Dry unless I’m in the shower
Runny nose may also occur but is more common in children than adults: Its not a gush, but it’s definitely dripping.
Stomach symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, may also occur but are more common in children than adults: Let’s just say the IBS is going “Hey, I’m here, still“, or feels like it is.

And, NO, I don’t think it’s swine flu! If it is, damn, I’ll take it over the “real” flu because yesterday was hell, but I’m feeling a lot better today. We’ll see, I guess.

I need to do work

I’m seriously behind on everything I’m supposed to be doing.
I’m a lazy douche, to steal a phrase from Lotus, so I’m not getting anywhere with it. I hate not being motivated but with the fluctuating temps, it’s hard not to be that way.
We’re looking at 70s on Thursday, but its supposed to plummet again next week. They’re talking snow again a week from our 70s. They’re saying flu season is supposed to peak in April. Usually it’s in like January/February. Now it’s well into spring. That’s scary.
My kids are really suffering from it. Madi will get over one cold and another will come along. Ethan won’t even be fully over one before he’s struck down by a new one. It’s getting insane. We just bought 3 boxes of Kleenex’s a week ago. I need to get more because I’m running low. I had to buy a jar of Vaseline for under my nose because of all the blowing.
Winter? Kiss my ass and fuck off!
Anyone else feeling this way?

I Am Death, Warmed-Over

Yeah, that’s how I feel right now 🙁
I feel like absolute POOP right now.
Yeah, I won’t even mention how that really is more than just a figure of speech right now.
Stupid freaking FLU combined with IBS.
