This was the day that Adrienne Karahalios always dreaded. Bill paying day, checkbook balancing day, invoice-checking day. Who’s brilliant idea was it to make that day always fall on the first day of the month? Seriously? There had to be a better way of spending the first day of every month when you own a business, other than this. Well, at least she only really had to do it once a month. It might be boring as hell, but at least it was usually a good excuse for locking out the world. It gave her less time to think about Osias Kallas and what the heck he was doing back in New Orleans after swearing never to return. Continue reading →
Well, I’m one hour into NaNoWriMo, and I’ve written 785 words. :w00t: Great start, I would say. If I write for five hours a day, that would get me to, hmm, let’s see:
785 x 5 x 30 = 117,750 words
Holy crap on a cracker!!
Yeah, I don’t think I’ll end up with that, but, :w00t:, that’s a great start. Now, though, I think it’s time for my bedtime. It’s 1am here in Topeka, tomorrow is Saturday, and I’ve got 2 sick kiddos 🙁
Oh, and I’ll be nice 😛
Current Title: Panther Dreams
Brief Synopsis, straight from my NaNo page:
Two were-panthers finally find their way in a world that’s unusual, yet common.
This was the day that Adrienne Karahalios always dreaded. Bill-paying day, checkbook balancing day, invoice-checking day.
Adri shook her head, her black hair curling slightly in the humidity as she did so. Even with the air conditioner on full-blast, the room was stuffy. She leaned back in her leather office chair, comfy thing that it was, and took a deep breath. It was great to be back in New Orleans, back with her friends, and the ones who became part of her family, but Osias returning was throwing a wrench in her life, her plans, everything. She closed her icy-blue eyes and tried to block out the thoughts of Osias. She needed to get this paperwork done so she could get back to the fun part of running her boutique: the customers and the thrill of a sale.
(1)What is your character’s name? Does the character have a nickname?
(2)What is your character’s hair color? Eye color?
Dark brown hair with ice blue eyes
(3)What kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have?
Angelina Jolie lips
(4)Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? What about scars? How did she get them?
She has a scar on the inside of her left wrist from a childhood scrape with Osias.
(5)Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does she surround herself with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who does she wish she were closest to?
Her only real surviving family is one she hasn’t met. The one she calls her family are those of Sanctuary in New Orleans. The bears might be Arcadian, but they opened their arms to her when she lost her mother. Aimee is one of her best friends.
While she doesn’t always consider Osias a friend, she’s one of the best friends she’s ever had, one who’s been there through thick and thin.
Aimee Peltier is another friend she holds dear.
(6)Where was your character born? Where has she lived since then? Where does she call home?
She was born in Athens, Greece. She’s lived all over the world in her lifetime, but prefers to call New Orleans home.
(7)Where does your character go when she’s angry?
She goes to her “happy place”. Okay, honestly, she goes to where she feels safe and secure, to release that anger. Usually the dojo run by Dragon, a Dark-Hunter. Yeah, she’s supposed to “hate” him, but she refuses to. She can’t help who she is, and he’s doing good for the world, so why hate that?
(8)What is her biggest fear? Who has she told this to? Who would she never tell this to? Why?
Her biggest fear is losing her “family”. After losing her father before she had a chance to meet him, and then losing her mother so early as well has made her fear loss the most. The only one who really knows the truth is Aimee, though Osias suspects it. She would never tell Osias because she just refuses to. She doesn’t understand why, but she just won’t.
(9)Does she have a secret?
The only major secret she has, minus being a were that she keeps from her human friends, she keeps a secret from everyone, including Aimee and herself: That she’s in love with Osias.
(10)What makes your character laugh out loud?
A good joke. Pretty much anything, actually. She loves to laugh.
gah!! They make me cry, XD. Every single episode of any TV show that involves Christmas, I’m crying in some form or fashion. It definitely proves how well my mascara is working, if I’m wearing it, XD.
Speaking of mascara, am I the only one who wears something besides black mascara? I’m currently wearing “Blue Sapphire” by Almay, and I love it. It’s of the line that goes with blue eyes. I wish they had a line for grey eyes, though, so I could mix and match.
