Blood Kiss (Black Dagger Legacy, #1)Blood Kiss by J.R. Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved reading more of Marissa and Butch. It was such a good story.
Paradise and Craeg was a good one as well. I love that he ended up being an aristocrat in the end. 😀

Review: The King by JR Ward

The King (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #12)The King by J.R. Ward

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just didn’t get into it as much as I usually did. It was awesome to see how things changed when you had a “half-blood” in the mix, especially with how smooth-ish her pregnancy went (minus the end).
It was even better to see Wrath accept his role in their society, and to do away with the aristocracy, for the most part.

Review: Rapture: A Novel of the Fallen Angels

Rapture: A Novel of the Fallen AngelsRapture: A Novel of the Fallen Angels by J.R. Ward

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story opens with beautiful imagery.
Of a cemetery.
So beautifully written that you feel like you’re there.
Matthias is back. He’s the soul. We knew that.
The choice he makes involves someone who knows of Beth {Dark Lover} by name only. I got excited when I read that sneak peek, thinking, “OOOH!! Vampires too” but nope. No one from the Black Dagger Brotherhood was involved. I’m wondering if it’ll tie together though, because of the angel that saved Tohr.
Anyways, another suspicion I have: Nigel is Dog. I swear! How else is Nigel always there when Dog isn’t, and visa versa?

Review: Crave by JR Ward

Crave (The Fallen Angels, #2)Crave by J.R. Ward

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I went straight from Covet to Crave, going “I have to know WTF is going on!!”

Well, I was left with a few more questions, but I did get some answers. Eddie and Ad have me going “Um, dudes?” a few times.

You know, for something I was told was a smut book, I expected more smut. I LOVED that there ended up being a baby at the end. And that she found closure for her brother. I don’t like that Devina won with Matthias, but Matthias was ready to die, in any way that he could. My heart broke for him at the end.

I’m liking Jim. He, honestly, reminds me A LOT of Butch, from The Black Dagger Brotherhood. Ad reminds me of V, and Eddie is reminding me of Hollywood, aka Rhage. It’s nice to see a version of them as angels. What’s weird is that I’m hoping that maybe, just maybe, a few of them will end up in the series. Trez did!

Review: Covet by JR Ward

Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1)Covet by J.R. Ward

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book sucked me in from the very beginning. It really helped that it’s set in the same city as The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I kept expecting to see Wrath show up or something. It was weird seeing “normal” names, so to speak.

I did spend most of the book, quite literally, saying out-loud: WTF is going on? I don’t know why. Just a few weird spots here and there.

I also expected more raunchy sex scenes. Like I said, I’ve read The Black Dagger Brotherhood before. I know the writing. Well, I didn’t get it, and well, it felt weird. Really weird.

The writing was GREAT. Like I said, I was sucked in from the very beginning, but I still was left going “What just happened?”
