Another Excerpt

They wanted to play, to be children, to just be loved. They did not ask to be magic, or were’s, or anything. They just wanted to have a normal life. They wanted to fall in love, have families, and be with those they chose.
Adrienne Karahalios was just like those children who just wanted to be normal. Growing up as a were had never been easy. Her father had died before her mother could even tell him she was pregnant. Because they had only mated, but not bonded, she was spared the loss of her mother as well.
Adrienne sighed as she looked at the picture of her mother. Her mother had been gone going on ten years now. Ten years she has been living at Peltier House. Ten years she is been attempting to survive without the only family she thought she ever had.

I No Like Mondays Today

On the subject of Mondays. Why do I hate them today? I just do 😛

We had a small panic this week because the post office cut Josh’s hours again. Well, today, he was asked if he wanted to do two days at the Ottawa office. He gets paid for mileage from the Lawrence station to the Ottawa one, and it’s about the same distance from the apartment to Ottawa as it is to Lawrence, so we all good 🙂 He could still get called in on Wednesday, so *woot* HOURS!!

See, the bitching and moaning does pay off. Even if no one else reads it, the worry is out so that I can focus on the good 🙂

NaNo Update, from my LJ (written yesterday):

Okay, I think I’m finished writing for the day. We’ll see, I guess, LOL.

So, update:
Daily Goal:

3351 / 3334 words. 101% done!
50K Goal:

3351 / 50000 words. 7% done!

Now to bitch a little.
Okay, I’ve reached the end of my first chapter. All of those words are in the first chapter. The bad news? The MCs have already fought, she’s already cried over him, and they’ve already kissed. WTF? Gah! That’s annoying!!

Yes, with Were-Hunters, they have to have sex before they find out that they’re mates, but WTF, dude? Seriously?

Adrienne is an f’ing wuss. No, I’m not writing her like that. She *wants* to be that way. Where the hell is the strong, tough bitch who refuses to give Osias the time of day? One kiss and she’s a puddle until the brother of your best friend shows the slightest interest in you and *bam* that’s when you grow your spine? GAH!!

And Osias? Dude, I’m about ready to just kill you off. I’ll give Adrienne to Dev. Yeah, he’s a dick, but shit, at least he’s not saying one thing to one female and another to Adrienne. You cocky bastard!!

Anyone else dealing with issues like that?

Mamma Mia, My Oh My

I Finally Got Away

Friday, my friend, Julie, and I saw Mamma Mia! May I say that I, who’s not a huge fan of musicals, absolutely adored the movie. Julie wasn’t too sure that she’d wanted to see it, but saw it because I wanted to, and because Sex and the City wasn’t available. She paid for the tickets ($14) and I paid for the popcorn and sodas ($15.52). Worth every single penny paid, I think. Definitely one where I’ll be purchasing the DVD when it comes out, and the soundtrack as well. As I told Julie, I want it in my car, on my laptop, and on my phone.

Rave Reviews

I absolutely loved the screen adaptation of Mamma Mia! The look of it was gorgeous, never has a Greek island looked so beautiful! I loved Meryl Streep as Donna, she cam across as an honest and good-hearted character. I loved Amanda ans Sophie and my only big casting problem was Pierce Brosnan, you may want to cover your ears when he sings, he’s horrible. Some of the songs seemed a bit forced in the storyline, but some of them felt at home. I saw an advanced screening and the sound wasn’t very good but that could have been because of the spot where we were sitting. The movie was ultimate feel good! I loved it! It was very bright and bouncy the whole time. I didn’t feel that there was one slow moment in the movie! I think my favorite moment in the movie was definitely Dancing Queen. It was spectacular.

I’d have to say that I agree 100% with this review, and all of the spectacular ones. There might be some not so nice ones, but I haven’t paid any attention.
