Gazing Out Into The Abyss

Looks like a rainy day #repix #GirlScouts #troop7417

I’m reading, and I’m reading. I’m reading too much, almost. I need to remember to update AS I finish the books, so I’m not doing like 10 or 12 at once.

I need to work on my other reading. Josh has suggested I check out Races of the Wild (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying Supplement) because it goes more in-depth with them.

I need to figure out how I want their DnD world to look. And the guy. Is he going to be an elf, as well? I know he’s not going to be royalty like she is. Gotta have some sort of strife with that. Unless that’s too cliche. I don’t want to be too cliche. That would just kill my oompf for the story.

I think I’m watching a little too much Gilmore Girls. I’m getting wordy with my words. Like that made any sense!

She’s Been Sort of Found

I’ve sort of found my female main character.

I’m doing a similar style like I did last year with 2 different worlds simultaneously, but I’m going more of the Dungeons and Dragons route.

My female character will work in an office in “our world”, and will live in denim jackets and boots when she’s not at work. She loves layers and fishtail braids for her strawberry blonde hair.

In the DnD world (Faerun-ish), she’s an elven princess who also discards the fancy garb to go off adventuring.

Courtesy of a workshop with All Year Sprints, hosted on Chatzy, I was able to REALLY get an idea of her likes and dislikes using Pinterest (as shown above).

Now I have to figure out the locations. The male character. Minor characters. Otherwise, I’m SO ready to get this going, and I’m SO GLAD I took this workshop!

I Don’t Even Know Anymore

This is all about #NaNoWriMo, and I’m so conflicted on what I want to do!

I know I want a fantasy romance. Romance because I’m a romance fiend. Fantasy because there are no real rules. Just the ones I set in place.

But I don’t know WHAT I want to write. I haven’t been given a clue on WHO I need to write.

I was talking to Krissy about it, and usually that helps. I’m doing the All Year Sprints workshops and that’s not helping either.

I don’t know what to do! I can’t even do any prewriting or planning until I do this!

What should I do? What shouldn’t I do?

Just a Bug

Holy #cicada batman!

“It’s just a bug,” Jamie told Kelsey with a laugh. “You don’t have to climb up my back to get away from it.”

Kelsey slid down her boyfriend’s back with a grumble. “That it not a simple bug. That’s a big ass bug.” She shuddered slightly. She had a small fear of bugs, especially of ones that were nearly as big as her foot.

Jamie just laughed at her. “Babe, it’s a cicada. It won’t hurt you. It might make some loud ass noises at you, but it won’t hurt you.”

The Clouds Beckon

Untitled Maggie felt herself being pulled up. She had been expecting the pull, had been ready to welcome it. Now that the time was upon her, she wasn’t ready for it. She didn’t want to leave her family. She didn’t want to leave anyone behind. In her world, when one reached a certain age, they were drafted into the service of the Master in the Sky. No one had seen the Master. No one was seen after they were drafted. Not everyone was drafted. Tests, lots of tests, were given. It was nearly impossible to purposely  fail them, though a few had tried. Read more Random Fiction!
