I am writing this at just after midnight, though you won’t have a chance of reading it until, well, whatever time I set it to pre-post. Sundays are a busy time for us (mostly grocery shopping and catching up on stuff that fell by the wayside during the week).
Saturday was hectic-ish. The morning was go-go-go. Simply because the Boy had a Boy Scout popcorn selling gig at the local Lowe’s at noon. That meant leaving by 11:30, just to make sure we were there a little early. 😀
I really, really, really didn’t want to wake up. I spent an hour or so reading in bed. My nose is all sorts of red and swollen because I was crying. Like full-on bawling at the story I was reading Star Trek: Voyager: Homecoming: Pt.1. I’ve READ IT BEFORE, but I’d just finished re-watching the series again on Netflix (seriously, you need to watch Star Trek Voyager if you’ve never seen it!)
After dropping Ethan off (I didn’t take pictures because I don’t know the boys well enough to feel comfortable doing it), Madi and I headed to Kohl’s. First thing we noticed was Broncos gear. I’m not a Broncos fan, but I’m a HUGE Peyton Manning fan. I’m not a fan of him in red though. I have to say, I prefer him in blue! It just could very well be because I’m totally a Colts girl 😉 Hmm, I think I might wear my Colts jersey this weekend. Not the smartest thing since I live deep in the heart of Chiefs territory, but I’m not changing just because I live in Kansas 😉
The next section we found was Christmas. Madison and I both just adore Christmas. My love is because my birthday is so close to Christmas (8th of December). Madison’s, I think, is because her birthday is nearly exactly 6 months before/after Christmas (June 20th). 😀
I spotted these, and got a little giddy. My dad collects these sorts of figurines. The M&M characters. I’ve sort of taken to doing it as well. Especially when they’re in forms I like (I have a C3PO peanut one :D)
Then we spotted the Nutcrackers!! When I was growing up, my aunt/godmother would take me to see The Nutcracker performed. Since then, I’ve always loved them. My parents supported that love by gifting me nutcrackers each year. I now do it with my friend’s daughter, who was born a week after my birthday. I’m thinking that little 4-pack in the corner might be perfect. Madison wants the Ballerina one. It sings and dances.
Then I spotted this sexy on wheels. As we walked past, Madison goes “There’s a Decepticon emblem on it!” Our family is a little too into Transformers (though not the 4th. Michael Bay burned us with 3 and the killing of Ironhide. Not really the killing, but more of how EASY he did it! :()
After picking up Ethan, we went to Walmart to pick up some things that Daddy tends to just fly past, and to get some milk. Though it turns out milk could have waited ONE MORE day. Oh well. I got Sims 3: Movie stuff. 😀 I’m content and happy!
These are the books the kids got. Madi picked out Ethan’s (Night of the Ninjas (Magic Tree House, No. 5)) and her own (Survivors #2: A Hidden Enemy). They also each got a bookmark. Ethan’s was Star Wars and Madison’s is a cat one. 😀
