A Week in My Life: Tuesday

Tuesday was … well, Tuesday. It doesn’t feel like today is Wednesday, so Tuesday obviously didn’t feel like Tuesday. I hate when days feel like that.

As usual, I struggled to wake up. I have to take a sleep aid at night to FALL asleep. Once I’m asleep, I’m usually a hard sleeper, but damn, that recovery after is killer. Add to it that we have to run the A/C just to be comfortable at night, and we’re just ASKING to be miserable. At least me.

and I both realized we hadn’t given her her practice spelling test. So, we did that real quick. Fourth Grade words are a lot easier than they were when I was in 4th grade. I swear I had these words in 2nd grade.

She, of course, did great, with absolutely no issues.

They gave me attitude at the bus stop. That’s okay, they gave their dad some this morning too. It’s a morning thing.

8:30 in the morning, and this is what it looked like. Welcome to fall in Kansas.

Got my NaNoWriMo chat on with the ladies. Well, we sort of had a chat, 😆 Mostly we were quiet because none of us really had anything to say. Give it a week, then we’ll all be panicking going “HELP! I need sprints!”

In the background, I had “Say Yes to the Dress” on. Am I the only weirdo who actually CRIES during the episodes? Oh well.

I remembered that I’d taken a shower, and had no proof of said shower, so here’s my proof. I’m STILL so loving on these glasses, and I’ve had them for 18 months! I’m definitely sticking with this style for now on!

My arch-nemesis and I met on the field of battle. I’m not sure there was a victor, minus the family, for finally having some clean clothes. How my kids can wear ALL of their clothes in a week baffles the hell out of me.

The pile. Not shown? The rest of the clothes 😆

At least I get to have my fun with my camera. Which reminds me I didn’t take a picture of what I purchased yesterday!! Well, the email order confirmation. For $50, I got an Extreme SD 16-gig and an Extreme SD 32-gig! Sweet, right! I did the math, and I can take over 3600 pictures … when I take both RAW and JPG! SWEET!

Which means I’ll be able to do this digital for years to come. I’ll never run out of pictures. snort The template and kit both release FRIDAY! Exclusively at Gingerscraps. Yes, I have to pimp out my place of employment. More than that. That place is just absolutely amazing and wonderful, and just awesome. The template is by Meg, of . The kit is called , also known as “” It’s a freaking awesome kit! If you like skulls, you’ll love this kit!

I mentioned yesterday that I don’t eat lunch. Yesterday? I ate lunch. Southwestern chicken strips, mozzarella cheese, taco sauce (Taco Bell brand, medium level), and some Ranch dressing. Wrapped in a whole-wheat tortilla. I got the idea from a Lunchable and South Beach Diet meal I used to get. It’s SO good and honestly, it’s healthy too. If I wanted, I could toss in some lettuce and tomatoes, and make it even better!

I got a new app for my phone. I seriously love my HTC Inspire! The app is called DerManDar (DMD) Panorama. I need to practice a bit with it, but this will so come in handy when I’m at my FIL’s in McLouth.

We had Parent-teacher conferences. 84F at 6pm. That’s just absolutely nuts for October! I really dislike . I love the RESULTS, aka Blackberries, but damn, I could do without the heat wave!

Madison was totally expected. Nothing surprising there. We’re gearing up for Current Events for November. Something short and sweet. Maybe something about elections or something. We’ll let her choose.

Ethan was, for the most part, not a huge surprise. I mean, we’re surprised that he does so well because he always acts like, at home, that everything is such a struggle. He’s showing some issues with some reading things, but both Josh and I, and his teacher, think a lot of it might be an attention issue, or looking for attention. We’ll be keeping an eye on it, though. Just in case.

We came back and the kids found the Toys ‘R Us Christmas Wish Book. Oh boy. Josh even made a hilarious update about it.

I’m glad we have good friends who’ll tell us we’re screwed, 😆

My husband! He was quite annoyed that I was taking pictures of him. Honestly, you’d think he’d be used to it by now. I mean, shoot, he’s the one who bought the cameras I use, 😆

and this became my dinner. Nothing else honestly sounded good. Chocolate covered pretzels are always so yummy delicious. Yum!

I’ll be back tomorrow with more things! I’m REALLY loving this!

  1. Hold the phone, those are 4TH grade words?! My 2nd grader had those words last year… that’s odd.

Love the facebook update. SO true. My nearly 8yo still believes in Santa — and has already started a list too. Said “Asking Santa for gifts is nice, because you get the toys for free!” This is very likely the last Christmas she still believes… so we’re going with it.

    • Yeah, those are 4th Grade words. She also had two states and their capitals, so I guess it evens out?

I think both my kids still believe. At least my daughter is good at pretending so her brother continues (She’s 9, and he’ll be 8 in March). I’m willing to go for as long as they want in believing 😀

  2. That cloud did look rather ominous but your cute children are still in shorts, no? I’m sitting on my porch in Georgia enjoying a 70 degree early evening myself. And laundry? Don’t get me started.

  3. LOL! Haha none of you are morning people!!! Jeff’s still trying to understand why I bite his head off every morning when he bothers me!

I hope Ethan’s learning struggles get sorted out 🙁 That’s so hard to see a kid go through!

    • Oh god, we all hate mornings here. HATE them. Well, Josh doesn’t. He’s one of those “Oh good morning. Isn’t it a lovely morning?” type of people. He’s learned not to bother me. Heck, this morning he texted me when my alarm went off “You can stay there if you want.” 😀

I’m hoping it’s just wanting of attention because he can read anything we stick in front of his face. He can understand it, and he excels in the testing area of it, minus if he hears it, but he gets a few really bad ear infections and I wonder if it was just a hearing issue with the testing 🙁

  4. So funny about the Toy Book– that’s what we looked through today too! Love that you included a FB chat in there– will be fun to look back on in years to come.

And hooray for scrapbooking! I used to do more paper scrapbooking before my blog took over. Hoping to get back into it though as I miss doing it!

    • I think I’m going to have to add more FB comments and things in my blog posts, because you’re right, I am going to want to see them later, and it’s easier to find them on a blog than buried on FB 😀

I do digital scrapbooking, which is a LOT easier to keep up with. When I have time, or between anything, I can have Photoshop (or any graphics editing program, honestly) open, and work while I’m doing other things. No mess, no issues 😀

I think the glasses look great on you and I love the shot of the water entering the washing machine. Great perspective. Fun panoramic shot to.
