What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet…
•Why were you given your name?
•What does it mean?
•Has your name influenced you as a person / your personality?
•What does your name mean to you?
As you might be able to figure out, the name be Sarah. According to everyone, I definitely live up to the name, which, in Hebrew, means “Princess”. No, Tom Cruise was totally wrong. Shiloh is not Hebrew for princess. Shiloh is the name most people would give their dog.
Anyway, I definitely seem to be influenced by the name. My favorite color is purple, which, historically, is the color of royalty. I was drawn to that color as a very young child, according to my father. Pink was something I would tolerate, but if purple was offered, every single time, I would choose it.
I’m also very spoiled. Oh yes, even at the tender age of 28, I’m spoiled. First grandchild on one side of the family, only girl for years on the same side, makes for a very spoiled little girl 🙂 She gets everything she asks for 😉 But! Even my parents can attest to the fact that I didn’t ask for the most expensive or a bunch of things. I remember one year, being asked “What do you want for Christmas” and my only response was “Baby Alive”. Yes, I got that doll, but you know what, I really did want it 🙂
Even now, I know what I want, but I also know to wait for it, and that I can save for it myself 🙂 So, instead of being a totally spoiled princess who expects everything handed to her, I am a spoiled princess who can get what she wants for herself. Maybe that’s why I identify with Belle so much 🙂
