School and the Like
I have no experience attempting to get Masters degrees online. Heck, I don’t even have an AA/BA (Josh has an AA). Personally, I would love to be able to go to school online, but a lot of companies see an online school and immediately put the resume in the rejected pile, according to HR folks that I’ve known. Maybe that’s changed in the past couple of years, but I wouldn’t doubt if it hasn’t.
There is a school call Gonzaga University that does Masters degrees online. The site looks nice, but so does University of Phoenix and Kaplan, and all reviews I’ve seen of them have been that they’re a scam. I know those two never leave me alone.
The site says that Forbes and The Princeton Review ranks them as one of the top online schools. They’re ranked #3 in the West by News and World Report.
They have 92 undergraduate and 21 graduate programs. Only a few are listed, which is kind of bothersome because then you’re forced to request more information, and that usually leads to a bunch of phone calls in which I hit “ignore” on my cell phone.
Maybe someone else will have a better idea of how well the school works out, but as someone who didn’t even finish a semester of college (personal issues), I’m not the best person to be offering advice.
Pillows and Things
The last few nights (well, since Friday), I’ve been sleeping with my foot propped up on pillows. Bed pillows, outdoor pillows, couch cushions, whatever I can find. My foot is so nastily swollen that it’s sad. It hurts still some too. Especially when it starts to swell again.
Working out with this ankle is so not working out. I freaked Josh out though with it last night. It’s so swollen that I press into my foot, and it doesn’t pop back up, at all. It’s kind of nasty, in fact. Haven’t been that swollen since I was pregnant with Madison. Josh and I both have agreed that if it’s still this swollen by this time next week, I’m off to see a doctor. Most likely will end up with a pain shot, a drain, and a flex.
Oh, and we’re also thinking I might have hairline fractures in a couple of my toes because of the way they’re bruising, and because I keep losing feeling in them. Weird, right?
