Feeling a bit better …

Seems my biggest problem is *hay fever*

* Sneezing
* Runny nose (clear, thin discharge)
* Congested (“stuffy”) nose
* Postnasal drip
* Sensation of plugged ear(s)
* Watery, bloodshot eyes
* Itching of nose, soft palate, ear canal, eyes, and/or skin
* Fatigue
* Trouble sleeping

I have literally every single one of those symptoms.
The treatment:

Avoid known or suspected allergens.

Hay fever symptoms lend themselves to home treatment.

  • Gargle with warm salt water, 1-2 tablespoons of table salt in 8 ounces of warm water, to soothe a mildly sore throat.

  • Take nonprescription antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) to relieve symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, and itchy throat and eyes. Caution – these medications may make you too drowsy to drive a car or operate machinery safely.

  • For stuffy nose, a combination of an antihistamine and a decongestant such as pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, Actifed) may work better.

Lovely, right? Just deal or take something to treat the symptoms. The best part: Avoid known or suspected allergens. That would be weeds and grass. Hmm, :lol:. Not going to really work when it’s fall, :lol:.

Now excuse me while I go back to dabbing my nose and sneezing all over my laptop.

    Hiya sweets, Just stopping in to see how are you! Glad you are feeling better, hope this thing will go away soon enough, before your laptop will be covered with sneezzie 😉 .
    Big hugs and take care! Thinking of you!

  2. Thanks, Marina. Sneezing seems to have subsided, but I was giving myself showers yesterday, :lol:.

    Ack! – that bites. Not that anyone enjoys being sick (no one I know) but it’s especially bad when all you can rely on is Benadryl and some silly decongestant. I like going for the big guns myself – NyQuil. *big grin* I hope you’re feeling better.

  4. Nyquil screws with my heart rhythm (it starts racing and then skips a few beats and goes really slow), so not a safe alternative for me 😉
    I have Zyrtec and Claritin. Trying to tough through it before I take something. Stubborn, but also, anything I take seems to make me drowsy and I have to pick up my daughter.
