Chopping up the sidebar


Okay, I need some suggestions:

If you could pick any of the things on my sidebar that I toss, which would they be?

Won’t be removed:
Navigation
Entrecard
About
Meta
RSS stuff
Calendar
Sig related stuff (but can be combined into one)
Google / Widgetbucks

I’m thinking of going to a two-column theme, and to do that, I’ll need to get rid of a few things, :lol:.

    I would probably ditch Top Comment Makers, Recent Posts, and perhaps the Plurk/Twitter things (or maybe size down or link to them). Perhaps the Special dates too, or make it smaller. I know things like Madi’s days off are important to you, but perhaps they are better for organizer software (or some plugin linked to the calender if one exists) so you can see it and not take up sidebar space.

    Thanks, Hon! I’m considering making a page for it, so it’ll only add one extra line for each of those. :)

    I only added the Top Comment Makers, Recent Posts and other other things to even out the sidebars, :lol:, and now I seem to be addicted. Definitely do not need them :)

    I would ditch the Entrecard (I have yet to really understand it’s special purpose), the calendar since I’ve never been prone to actually use it even though I think I still display it on my blog :lol:

    I think meta is great to still keep because it possibly just makes it easier to log in when need be. RSS is important because it’s getting more and more popular and you never know who might want to subscribe but can’t find your RSS link when they’d like to. And the About section makes it feel a bit more personalized for some reason.

    I’ve had a long day and so if this all doesn’t make sense… well I’m just too exhausted to review and fix it! :lol:

    My 3 suggestions would be: Twitter, Plurk, and Sigtags, and Calendar.

    But the real question is, since you’re not up for removing WidgetBucks and Google AdSense, does that mean you’re actually earning with those??

    I won’t be removing Entrecard. I’m actually getting new blogs to read through that :) And, it’s cheap advertising ;)

    @ Katy
    Got rid of a few things. Ones I got rid of I can just make pages for, or add to the about me page :)
    And, yes, I do make *some* money with WidgetBucks and AdSense. Not a huge amount, but a few bucks a month :)
