Can I Has Shop Now?

Soon she leaves the nest
Scurrying away to grow
To learn her own self
prettygirl
I’m ready to let
her take that huge step away
but I’m also sad

She’s my first born, my
baby girl, my little one
Goodbye preschooler

As I just recently blogged about, my Madi is starting kindergarten this year. We were able to pick up her school shopping list, and I about died. One of the things on the list was a "resting mat". Now it’s got me thinking: will she be doing all-day kindergarten then? I think we’ll be finding out for sure on Monday, when we go to enroll her in school )

Anyways, the list also includes a container of sanitizing wipes from the girls, 2 different types of markers, and twelve pencils. Holy crap! Twelve? Hee hee.

Me, being the nutjob over school supplies and writing utensils can spell some bad things for my family, lol . I love to shop, but I also like to find some good deals.

So bittersweet, really. Nicely haiku’d. Bet she’s excited!

I think she’s excited. She hasn’t really figured out what’s going on completely, because she’s never done daycare, nor preschool.

Great haiku! My son’s birthday just misses the cut-off, so he has one more year of preschool. Ditto about shopping for school supplies. I think it’s so much fun to get ready for an exciting new school year. I’m a nerd!

I’ve got this feeling that they’re going to try and fight us on her enrollment because she didn’t do preschool, but the cut-off here is in September, and Madi was born in June, so they better let her in ;)
Us nerds need to stick together ;) It’s good to hear about others having the same love of school shopping. I don’t feel so bad now.
