Wove, Twue Wove

I got the idea from Lotus, another awesome blogger, who got it from Reba, a blogger I now have to add to my RSS reader )

The goal is to write about how we met our hubby-poo or our significant others. I might not remember the exact details, but I remember enough ) and I think that counts for something.

It was mid-May in the year of 2001. The CSMs (customer service managers) of Walmart were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Why? Because the head honchos of District were gonna be showing up, that’s why. What’s the big deal? If they don’t have the store “ship shape” jobs could literally be on the line.

So, they’re asking for volunteers to go to Garden Center. I wanted to get away from the front end for a bit, and away from the lines that continued on for hours, it seemed, so I volunteered when I came back from a break. They happily took me up on that offer, and fate began.

I happily go about scanning and doing my job, when suddenly, “Adonis”, in my opinion shows up. My heart starts to race, and my skin becomes flushed. I chalked it up to the heat, as it is Palm Bay, FL, during the “summer”. Yet, every time he’s in my line of sight, the feeling happens again. We don’t really talk, but I get introduced, once it becomes pretty obvious I’ll be joining the Garden Center team.

It’s been almost exactly 7 years since that fateful day, and wow, oh wow, he still can make my heart race and my skin flush. Considering it’s f’ing cold right now here in Kansas, I can’t blame it on the weather. It’s safe to assume that it’s all him, and him alone. I guess you’d say it’s “Wove, Twue Wove”.

    Aaaahhhh. What a fun story. And a cute picture too = )

    Love that you quoted from my favorite movie (The Princess Bride) for your headline too.

    @ Kim :: Thank you very much )

    The Princess Bride is my husband’s favorite movie as well, so that’s what inspired me to use it, since Star Wars didn’t really have one that was appropriate.

    @ Gabriel :: He still makes me weak at the knees with just a look or a touch. )

    @ bits & pieces :: I don’t really think 7 years is that long, in the grand scheme of things, but I hope it continues )

    @ Krissy :: Thanks, Hon ) I still can’t believe it at times, especially when he’s driving me bonkers.

    @Sarah: not usually in the “heart races, skin flushes” way, but more in a quiet sort of way. It’s a different kind of love than what I’d call “being in love”, I’d say.

    @ Philip :: Well, I think that kinda sucks. I love that I still get the jitters when he’s around. )

    @Sarah: Good for you!

    And not in the snarky way, either - if you still have that, that’s an enrichment to your relationship.

    It’s just not something I expect after several years in a relationship, so I’m not sad it’s gone - but if someone managed to conserve it, then more power to them!
