The World of Spamming
This is scary, the world of spamming. I’ve got 680 legit comments and 453 spam ones. o.O That’s freaking insane!
Spam
Akismet has protected your site from 453 spam comments.
What is the purpose for the spamming though? I know it’s to try and sell things, and to fake a decent PR level (which in turn fucks up mine, but anyways). But other than that, what’s the point? Why not attempt to get a job and make money in a legit way? Most of the spam shit is just a scam anyway. How the hell do people fall for it anyway? Come on, get a clue!
Okay, I feel better. Real post to follow later

I'm a 26 year-old female living in Kansas with my husband and our two kids. The purpose of this blog is more of a release of all things, but I do have a couple of other blogs for other endeavors.

I know what you mean. I had to shut down my tagboard because I got so much spam. And then I had to delete my email account because it was still getting spam. *sigh* Hope you’re at least not getting anything pornographic. *shudder*
Thankfully, I don’t see any of it, courtesy of Akismet. I had to get rid of SpamKarma because those it saw as “spammers” were getting errors, and I was getting annoyed with the complaints about them, XD (especially the ones some took to others without letting me know; not the legitimate complaints, who told me what happened). The only stuff I really see are the spam trackbacks, of people basically scraping my posts, and there’s not much I can really do about that, except confirm it as spam.
I’ve never heard of Akismet. What’s that?
It comes with default installations of WP, but it’s created by one of the creators of WP (Matt), and free for use. You have to sign up for the WP forums, and you’ll get an API code, and that’s all you gotta do
Cool! Thanks hon!
You’re welcome
