Hitting the past

I just downloaded a few Christina Aguilera songs, and its making me nostalgic ) It’s in a good way, though ) I like it. When you mix it with All4One and BoysIIMen, you get a bit misty at times, lol .

Anyways, time for the real post. Today I was interrupted from my plans to wake up early and start things. Hard to do when you’re getting blasted awake by a freaked-out toddler who’s nervous around thunderstorms. Hard to do so when your husband is waking up constantly to reset the alarm on his phone, because the power went out 3 times between 3:30 and 7am o.O Then, between 7am and 10am? Three more black-outs. Holy freaking CRAP! *shudders* Me no like storms!

So, I didn’t get up like I wanted. I just couldn’t see the point. I’d get on, and *BOOM*, power-outage. Not even worth risking the PC over. Can’t run a dryer or washer with the power going out, either, so that was out of the question, as well. But, the good news is that I did get the tags sent out, and at a decent time. I guess it worked out in the end.

Josh is off tomorrow. He’s going to his dad’s for a bit. I doubt he’ll be there long. As I’ve complained before, this guy is super-ultra pessimistic, and it’s just gotten worse over the past year. He knocks down every idea Josh has. I doubt we’re even going to tell him we’re moving into a house (when we do start), until we’re already done because he’ll just try to talk Josh out of it. It just pisses me off the stuff that he’s tried to talk Josh out of that’s actually good for him:

  1. when he got the interview for the PO (which Mark insisted he apply for, FFS), he went on and on about the down-side of it, all of which Josh has proven as not true. For example: He’ll never be with his kids: Josh spends so much time with them. They don’t feel abandoned, and ignored, like Josh did by his dad most of his life
  2. Josh wanted to put a route on “HOLD”, which meant he’d most likely work that route every day he works, unless Andy’s working it (he does it one day a week). Mark tried to talk him out of it, saying it was a bad idea, and that it wouldn’t make him a regular faster (which wasn’t even Josh’s intentions, just a way of trying to plan things for us to do -schedule wise). Everyone else, INCLUDING his brother, thought it was a great idea, which also meant his management, because that was one less route they had to worry about coverage for and stuff getting done on time.
  3. too many other things to list

This isn’t a hate on him. I know he’s having a tough time dealing with the loss of Kathy, but he’s effectively pushed away Josh and Jamie, and I see Jesse as being next. It’s exactly what Kathy feared, when she’d talk to me about what she thought life would be like after she was gone. I swear, she knew she was going to go soon. I swear she just knew, and she just wasn’t ready. She wanted Mark and his kids to build better relationships, but right now, he’s making it impossible.
